Wind

So often those who long for change
Keep sailing on familiar seas
And those who long to stay the same
Are storm-buffeted from harbor
Into the open water.

You may think you can explain the wind
Discover why it changes course
But nature’s secrets revealed are but a shadow
Of a larger driving force
That can send the north winds south.

I may not see the reason now
Or ever know the cause
Why this breeze is changing
Or how strong this storm may blow

But I know He who rides and drives the wind
And that is enough.
